Dan FitzSimons leads a group of certified, dedicated and knowledgeable trainers who make it their business to know your body inside and out and design workouts that are going to motivate you and accelerate your fitness routine. We understand that you may not have a lot of time, so we tailor your workout regimen to meet your needs and fit your schedule. Have fun training in an atmosphere of serious fitness professionals because helping you get healthy is what we love to do.


Dan

A dedicated athlete, coach and educator, Dan opened bodyfitz to share with others his passion for fitness, health and recreation. Throughout high school and college, Dan participated in track and field, throwing shot put, discus and javelin. He played football for the University of Connecticut Huskies and pursued a coaching career in high school track and football while teaching physical education. Dan earned a bachelor’s of science degree in physical education from Southern Connecticut State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Central Connecticut State University. He has been certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Dan loves the sport of cycling or triathlon, and has competed for years in both. Currently training for sprint triathlons and the Assault on Mt. Mitchell Dan stays strong and fast with strength training.

 


Chantrell

Attitude and ability best define Chantrell, who has been a bodyfitz trainer since 2003 and is currently working on her doctorate degree in exercise psychology, specializing in aging populations, at Georgia State University. Chantrell experienced an outstanding track and field career at Southeastern Louisiana University, where she earned a bachelor’s of science degree in family and consumer science nutrition and a master’s degree in health promotion/exercise science. Chantrell is certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She offers her clients firsthand experience as a trainer who has performed on the field, in the classroom and at the gym, all of which combine to help clients achieve their fitness goals.

 


Heath

Having worked for seven years as an exercise physiologist, Heath has insights into special training demands that have proven unmatched in the area. A former collegiate athlete, Heath earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Newberry College and has been a bodyfitz trainer since 2005. Although Heath is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), it’s his hands-on experience in outpatient rehabilitation, coupled with his speed, strength and agility programs for student athletes, that allows him to offer a unique range of practices to help enable his clients to rehabilitate injuries or improve their fitness level.

 


Leah

Leah discovered her passion for fitness while attending the University of Louisville. After competing and winning various fitness competitions, she decided to build a career for herself. She first obtained her certification in massage therapy from the Atlanta School of Massage followed by personal training certifications through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Leah, who has been with bodyfitz since 2009, loves to lead by example and share her knowledge and experience with her clients. She recently found a passion for ultra endurance events and has finished two full Ironman competitions, two half Ironman competitions and a 50K trail run race. She also finished third in her age group in her recent half Ironman. Leah continues to push herself with her goals, racing, and of course, staying strong in the gym. Leah’s dedication to her clients and work is just as strong as she is.  Clients who train with Leah know that she will have their best interests in mind and will aid them in setting reasonable and attainable goals for themselves.

Worth

Worth has been a part of the bodyfitz family since it’s inception. With over 12 years training at bodyfitz as a client Worth has now dedicated himself to becoming a trainer to help inspire others on their fitness journeys. Worth’s personal fitness journey is highlighted by his achievement of losing over 60 pounds and over 25% of his body fat as a high school student. As a deconditioned and overweight kid lacking discipline Worth was a 3 handicap on the golf course before refocusing his attention to health and fitness. Realizing change was necessary Worth joined the swim team his freshmen year. While swimming and working out with Dan, by his senior year Worth had transformed his body to be under 10% body fat and also finished top 8 in the state in the 100 yard backstroke. After attending Mercersburg Academy for a post graduate year, Worth attended Williams College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History. While at Williams, Worth earned Collegiate All-American and ALL NESCAC Conference honors on the Men’s swim team. Since graduation Worth has rededicated himself to fitness to learning everything he didn’t know before. Already a trainer with experience, passion, and desire, Worth has developed a great group fitness class called Metabolic Conditioning that offers participants a valuable form of cardiovascular conditioning and strength training

 

James Smeltzer, James came to bodyfitz in 2009 with five years of experience. He is a former competitive Division II wrestler and football player for The University of Findlay in Ohio, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in physical education/strength and conditioning. His passion for fitness is paired with his knowledge of the human body and the latest fitness techniques, which enables him to design just the right program for his clients, regardless of their current condition and exercise level. James is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and has earned a master’s in Exercise Physiology from The Citadel.
